Kyle here. A few days ago, I shook hands with a billionaire. Bob Parsons, the founder of GoDaddy and YAM Worldwide, is as hilarious as he is successful. Parsons was just one featured speaker at iCONIC: LA, the entrepreneurial conference I had the pleasure of attending. Throughout the day, speakers such as Bob Parsons, Marcus Lemonis (“The Profit”), and Julia Hartz (Eventbrite) gave very insightful talks about various aspects of entrepreneurship and the evolving business world. Hartz discussed a very fascinating and relevant topic: the advent of experientialism. Essentially, the business world has evolved from merely selling products to selling full-on experiences. One topic that personally resonated with me was about how a successful business has a specific, real story bigger than their product. I think these two topics tie together well in that they both discuss the full depth and scope of a business past its face-value numbers. A business has a story and a meaning behind it. There is more than just the literal product; there is an implicit message being carried and a bigger picture being painted.
As the CubeForme team and I move forward, we’ll definitely keep these thoughts in mind. We want to create an authentic and firsthand experience that actually immerses you into the world of 3D printing. This means a unique experience each month, giving you a fun and educational look into the possibilities of 3D printing. On the other end, we also want to stay true to our fundamental premise of giving 3D designers the recognition that they deserve. With each box we ship out, we’ll put a face to the designs. There’s still a lot that needs to be done, but we’re very excited…and we hope you are, too!
